What we offer

The Jaguars Hockey Association is built on the principle that hockey should be a fun way for young women to develop their skills, build a work ethic, learn sportsmanship and build friendships that can last a lifetime. The program is made up of the city-wide Jaguars hockey starts at the initiation level (age 4-6) and has teams at all levels up to midget aged players (15-17 years old).

Getting started with hockey

Hockey is a great game that can start a lifelong passion for the sport at a young age, but it can also be confusing for parents who aren’t familiar with the game or how the leagues are set up in the Edmonton area. The Jaguars ‘Timbits’ Initiation program is specifically designed to help young players learn the game in a supportive atmosphere. For parents who aren’t sure about what kind of equipment they need, we can give you all the info you need to get your little player safely on the ice.

Committed to growing the game

Is your team looking to pick up an extra practice, or do you have an ice slot assigned to your team that you can’t use? The Jaguar Ice Exchange allows teams to find and trade ice to help our club better use all our ice times.

Hockey is a great game, but it can be expensive to register a player and provide them with the equipment they need. Fortunately there are a number of sources of financial assistance that can help.

The Respect in Sport Program is an online certification program from Hockey Alberta designed to protect players and providing a safe and fun environment for all of participants.

Jaguars Tryout Process

Tryouts can be a stressful time for players and parents. Find out how we ensure tryouts are fair for all players. Our objectives of player evaluation include providing a fair and impartial assessment of a player’s total hockey skills, ensuring players have a reasonable opportunity of being selected to a team appropriate to their skill levels, and providing uniformity and consistency in the evaluation process.
