Our latest CommuniBee Suite update focuses on giving communities more control over how content is displayed, improving the onboarding experience for new users, and making community news notifications more powerful and measurable.
CommuniBee already gives communities the tools to create and manage their own content pages, but we know that presentation matters. With this update, we have improved the Column block so admins can now reorder columns as needed.
This gives communities more flexibility when designing pages and arranging content. Instead of having to recreate sections or work around a fixed layout, admins can easily adjust the order of columns to better match the flow of their pages.
We have also added a new Reorder toggle across several important Home pages, including:
This gives admins better control over how items appear on these pages, helping communities decide what should be featured more prominently.
Instead of relying only on default ordering, communities can now take a more intentional approach to how their content is displayed. This is especially useful when promoting timely updates, featured events, important resources, popular marketplace items, or priority news posts.
For communities that manage a lot of content and want to make sure users can quickly find the most relevant items, this update should help achieve just that.
One of the biggest additions in this release is the new Onboarding Form feature. Communities can now create an onboarding form for their users to complete after joining, giving admins a simple way to collect important information from those in the community. For example, you may consider collecting details such as user preferences, interests, program eligibility information, volunteer availability, and more!
When a user first joins your community, they will be prompted to fill out the form. However, they do not need to complete it immediately as the form can be accessed and completed later.
Collecting information is only useful if admins can easily review and use it. That’s why onboarding form responses can be viewed directly in a table format within their management dashboard.
This makes it easier for admins to scan responses, compare submissions, and find the information they need without digging through individual user profiles one by one.
Communities can also export onboarding form responses, making it easier to work with the data outside of CommuniBee when needed.
In this release, admins can also edit onboarding form responses as needed.
This is especially important because users cannot edit their own form responses once submitted. If a correction is required, an admin can make those changes on their behalf, helping communities maintain accurate records of their users.
CommuniBee’s News feature helps communities keep their audience informed, and this update makes it even more effective.
We have added a new global news notification setting that allows users to opt in to receiving email and SMS notifications from the community. This gives users more control over whether they want to receive updates while helping communities communicate with people who have actively chosen to stay informed.
Users can opt in from several convenient places, including:
By making the opt-in process available in multiple locations, communities can encourage more users to stay connected.
Not every news post needs to trigger a notification. Some updates are important announcements, while others may simply be general website content.
With this update, admins can choose which news items use notifications. This helps communities avoid over-notifying their audience while still making sure important updates get attention.
For example, a community may want to send notifications for urgent announcements, event reminders, fundraising updates, registration openings, program changes, or major community news. Less time-sensitive content can still be published to the News section without sending an email or SMS notification.
This gives admins control over their communication strategy and helps ensure notifications are used thoughtfully. As well, previews for how the email and SMS notifications are provided for each news item so admins know exactly how they will appear to users!
Admins can also view notification preferences directly from their management dashboard. This makes it easier to see which users have opted in to receive news notifications and whether they are subscribed by email, SMS, or both.
Having this visibility gives communities a clearer understanding of their reachable audience. It can also help admins make more informed decisions about how they communicate, which channels they rely on, and how many users are actively subscribed to updates.
In addition to sending notifications, communities can also track how those notifications performed. An analytics overview is provided for each notification, including key performance metrics, such as:
These insights help admins better understand whether their news updates are reaching users and how recipients are engaging with them. Communities can also export notification reports, making it easier to review performance over time, share results internally, or keep records of communication activity.
With improved content ordering, new onboarding forms, global news notifications, and detailed analytics, CommuniBee continues to make it easier for organizations to manage their online community from one connected platform.
Whether you are welcoming new users, promoting important updates, organizing resources, or keeping your audience informed, these updates give admins more control while improving the experience for the people they serve.
CommuniBee does not display active communities right now. If you are looking to view a specific community, you will need the community’s website URL.
Be sure to check your email to see if you received an invitation to the community; otherwise, you should contact a community admin for access.
