View news notification metrics

After your news notification has been delivered and guests start engaging with it, you may want to see that performance in real time. To do so, navigate to the news item’s Overview tab and scroll down to the Notification Performance section.

At a high level, you will see the Published date, total number of notifications Sent, and Unique Recipients. If you notice the total sent is more than the unique recipients, that simply means some guests were opted into both email and SMS notifications.

Next, the table includes three key metrics: Delivery, Opens, and Clicks for you to get an even better overview of how your guests are engaging with the notification. The table separates out metrics for Email and SMS separately.

Delivery

Recipients: the total number of intended guests that have opted in to receive notifications.

Delivered: the total number of successful notifications delivered to guests.

Opens

Total Opens: the total number of times the notification was opened. Only email opens are tracked.

Unique Opens: the total number of distinct recipients who opened the notification. Only email opens are tracked.

Unique Open Rate: this is total number of Unique Opens divided by total Delivered, displayed as a percent.

Please note that due to SMS limitations, metrics for Opens cannot be tracked and are excluded in this table.

Clicks

Total Clicks: the total number of times the notification’s URL link was clicked.

Unique Clicks: the total number of distinct recipients who clicked the notification’s URL link.

Unique Click Rate: this is total number of Unique Clicks divided by total Delivered, displayed as a percent.

Export Notification Performance

To get a holistic view of notification metrics across all your news items, you can download a .CSV export that breaks everything down for you. Start by navigating back to the News menu option, then select the Reports tab.

On this page, you can set the date range you would like to see notification metrics for, then click the Download button within the Export Notification Performance section. This export will include the details outlined at the beginning of this guide for all news items that were published within the date range selected.
