CommuniBee Suite’s Surveys feature is a powerful tool to collect feedback from and engage with your community. Whether you’re looking to create a quick form for gathering information, design a detailed questionnaire to understand your audience better, or launch a survey to collect and analyze insights, this tool can help.
Surveys can be added to your website, shared directly with users, or even linked to purchases to gather important details at key moments. Whether it’s receiving a donation, selling an event ticket, product, or community membership, you can use Surveys to collect valuable insights and better understand your audience. You can also create stand-alone surveys for more general engagement, giving you the tools to reach your community in the way that suits your needs best.
To get started, click on the Surveys menu option. Any of your existing surveys will be listed here along with high-level detail such as total Completions, the number of items a survey is Linked to, and the State of each survey.
Click View to edit an existing survey or view the survey’s results. To create a new survey, click the Add Survey button.
Like other setup pages within CommuniBee Suite, begin by including some general information on the survey. If the survey is only linked to a purchasable item—such as a product, event ticket, membership, or donation—you only need to enter a Survey Page Title before proceeding to the Survey Builder tab to create your survey.
Once you have entered the above details, click Save.
With the general details out of the way, you can start to build the survey itself.
Fill in the details below to create a survey question.
Available Answer Types include:
Once you have at least one question added, you can test your survey by clicking the Preview Survey button. This opens the survey response window, allowing you to preview the survey exactly as your guests will see it. You may test your survey by responding to the questions. Any responses you make while previewing your survey won’t be recorded in the survey’s results. Selecting Edit next to a question will direct you to the question setup to make changes.
Finally, you can set optional settings that determine how this survey is completed. These settings are only applicable when a survey is linked to a purchasable item, such as a product, event ticket, membership, or donation. These options define how the survey should behave during the checkout process.
The following settings determines how often guests are prompted to complete the survey when it is linked to an item that can be purchased in multiple quantities, such as an event ticket or a product.
This section is all about the design of the survey’s web page. You can upload images or link to a video that act as the banner for this page. The appearance of your banner can then be configured to create a truly stunning landing page. If you are linking a survey to a purchasable item, then you can skip the Media, Content, and Layout step entirely as guests won’t see the survey’s landing page.
Once you are done setting up your media, navigate to the Layout tab to preview your survey’s page.
Provide instructions, additional text or context for your survey. This content will display on your survey’s landing page. If left blank, we present the Short Description that was entered on the General tab. If you selected to use Custom Blocks Only from the Media tab, you can ignore this tab as you will be using page blocks from the Layout tab to add your content.
This tab allows you to preview your survey’s landing page and adjust the overall page layout. This includes customizing the text on the button that opens the survey response screen.
The button that opens the survey response window defaults to “Open Survey,” but you can customize this text to better fit your survey’s purpose, such as “Apply Here,” “Sign Up,” or “Open Form.” To edit the button text or colour, click the pencil icon next to the block containing the Open Survey button.
You can continue to build on this page and add additional sections by following the steps below:
To rearrange a block, use your mouse and hold left click on it, then drag the block above or below another block. Let go of left click to set the block in place. Learn more about the available page blocks.
Whether you’ve designed a full survey landing page or are just linking a survey to the purchase of a specific item, when you’re ready to start collecting responses from your audience, the Visibility tab is where you make the survey visible.
Status
At any time, you can manually update the status of this page. You can also schedule a Publish Date to have a survey switch from Draft to Live at a specific date and time. If you include a Hide After date, this survey will automatically switch from Live to Archived at the specified date and time.
Once your survey is live, be sure to visit the Results tab to monitor survey responses as they come in. If your survey is standalone, navigate to the Promote tab, copy the Default Share Link, and then send it to your target audience, or promote it through an email or link campaign.
Surveys can also be associated with the purchase of products, event tickets, donations, and memberships. If you would like to link your survey to a purchase, navigate to the specific product, event, donation, or membership item in your dashboard, and then click on its Visibility/Survey tab. From here, use the Associate with Survey dropdown to successfully connect your survey.
CommuniBee does not display active communities right now. If you are looking to view a specific community, you will need the community’s website URL.
Be sure to check your email to see if you received an invitation to the community; otherwise, you should contact a community admin for access.
